Alice Krumm
Alice Krumm DNP, RN, NEA-BC, CNOR (E)

Dr. Alice Krumm is a distinguished healthcare leader with over 35 years of nursing and leadership experience. As a faculty member at Vanderbilt University School of Nursing, she brings a wealth of knowledge from her previous role as Associate Vice President of Perioperative Services at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Her leadership journey also includes serving as an administrator at The Ohio State University’s Wexner Medical Center and James Cancer Hospital, where she led perioperative services, surgical inpatient units, and shared service platforms. A Certified Executive in Nursing Practice and Certified in Perioperative Nursing, Alice is an active member of the American Organization of Nurse Leaders, the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses, and Sigma Theta Tau. She has also contributed as the sole nurse representative on the ACGME’s CLER Operative and Procedural Sub-Protocol Advisory Group. Throughout her career, Alice has focused on driving large-scale change initiatives that enhance team dynamics, collaboration, and communication. Central to her work is the belief that strong, interdependent healthcare teams are essential for high-quality patient care. Her current research explores the drivers of unprofessional interactions among healthcare professionals during critical clinical transitions, underlining the profound impact that effective team interactions have on patient outcomes. In addition to her research, Alice’s publications on the CORS for Nursing program highlight the successful implementation of evidence-based peer feedback, providing valuable insights for nurse leaders. Through her work with Vanderbilt Health’s Center for Patient and Professional Advocacy, she plays a pivotal role in building high-performing teams, fostering a culture of professionalism and collaboration that champions the value of great teams in delivering quality healthcare.
